We spent all of two days in Da Lat exploring in and around on a motorbike tour. Well the others had pretty motorbikes and I was left with the moped because i'm the smallest! On the first day we visited the coffee plantation, silk factory, flower farm, rice wine making and Elephant waterfall which was a lot of fun and not very touristy at all which was really nice. The second day was a lot more touristy as we went on a mini rollercoaster down to a waterfall and did our first elephant riding. It was really fun to travel around on the motorbikes through the moutain roads, it really is the only way to see Da Lat.
After Da Lat we headed to Ho Chi Minh City to visit the Cu Chi but unfortunatly it was heavily raining and we decided that maybe it wasn't the best idea. Instead we visited Ho Chi Minh's Notra Dame Cathedral and luckly as we arrived a service started. It was mostly sung and as it was in Vietnamese we didn't understand a lot of what was going on but it was really interesting to see.
13th July we travelled to
Phnom Penh, Cambodia where we visited the Killing Fields and the main Prison during the time of the Khmar Rouge. It's very sad to hear about things like this happening only 40 years ago.
After Phnom Penh we travelled to Siem Reap to see the Angkor Temples, some of the prettiest temples I have seen so far. Siem Reap also has quite a few markets where we spent maybe too much money on buying gifts and clothes but it was worth it.
Next we crossed the boarder into Bangkok, Thailand. We stayed on Khoa San Road, the main backpackers street where you can buy t-shirts for £2 and a 3Lt tower of beer for £10. We spent a day or two chilling and doing more shopping here, by now I have very little space left in my bag. While in Bangkok we took a 2day trekk to visit the River Kwai and the seven level waterfall which was beautiful. While were we got the chance to ride and wash elephants which is something you can't say no too. It was just so much fun and i really want to do it again.
Straight after our trip we
took a bus straight up north to Chiang Mai were we played with a lot of Tigers at Tiger Kingdom. We saw 3month olds, 5month olds 22 month olds and even bigger tigers. We got time to go in and play with the little ones and stroke the larger ones. A few of them were sleeping as they sleep 18hrs a day but most seemed quite happy to pose for the camera with you.
On the 24th July we went into the jungle for a 3 day trekking experience where we saw quite a few waterfalls and did elephant riding and bamboo rafting. It raining everyday but it was very refreshing when it rained as we got quite hot walking up the moutains. Today we treated ourselves with massages and hair cuts.
Sorry this was brief, theres so much more i could write about but I need to pack because i'm going to Laos tomorrow.

elephants and tigers
What fun! What an amazing time you are having. The tigers are lovely 'fluffies' and cooed over by all at home. Bath time with an elephant must be the best way ever to cool off :)
