So first day in Chiang Mai, we just went straight to sleep when we checked into our room (its very basic after Lebua 😞 )
We slept til about 12 and then got up and got our sh*t together! We sorted out our laundry and handed
it into reception to be done for us, About 1.50 euro to do nearly a weeks worth of clothes 😊
We decide to do some exploration, so get our first Tuk Tkk for 50baht down to the road market! It such a culture shock seeing the thai markets selling all sorts of food on the street alongside everything else imaginable! The smells are something else too! (not in a good way!)
We wander around for a while and make our own way back tot he guest house eventually, Probably took a very long route, but we like wandering off the beaten track a bit too! We are chuffed when we make it back in one peice!

Rosie gets SOOOO many funny looks, I think she is the whitest thing these thai people have ever seen! its so funny, people just stop and stare at her illuminous white legs 😊

So we decide to have dinner in this bar "New Bar" right beside our hotel, we both went for thai food, but the girls days they don't have thai food on at the minute only pasta (IN THAILAND!!!!) so i order spagetti bolognaise, and Rosie the Seafood Spagetti, 20 mins later and out rocks rosie's seafood pasta covered in BEEF Bolaognaise sauce with a few prawns dotted around it! She's like Eh since when in Beef included in seafood? I notice then that my Bolognaise dish is some spagetti mixed with scrambelled eggs and cubes of processed ham!??? So we're like "eh we'll skip the food thanks" and have a mai thai each which turns out is pretty potent on an empty stomach!! we spent a good while just taking in the sights, which included two little Thai boys keeping themselves totally entertained with two empty cardboard boxes, so cute!!

We have another little wander around, CM is really laid back compared to Bangkok, its really easy going, amd even though we're in the touristy area you wouldn't know it!!

For dinner (and our first meal since Bangkok 24 hours earlier) we head to Thai 1 ON, its right beside our accomodation too, and has a constant flow of customers so we're hopeful, Rosie struck it lucky ordering Garlic Chicken, I ordered chicken with cashew nuts, but I actually got chicken fried rice! Ah well I ate it anyway and it was cheap as chips!

Think all the bus journey has us wiped out, we go back to room early enough and catch up on our zzz's!

Stay tuned for the next entry 😊

Gxx
