Some moment in our life are more important than others. For some of these moments, we have to wait for years. Today, I give you one of the happiest moment of "La Maison du bonheur". Today, Tiffany is joining us, for a while to share our adventures in Thailand. Today, is the most beautiful day of my life, or time will tell if it really is....
Most of my friends are asking me, but what did happen? How is it that Tiffany is now in Bangkok? I have spent a lot of time in courts over the last 9 years, but haven't been any way close to one for the last 15 months, so what did happen? I'm the first to have to admit that there are a lot of the pieces of the puzzle missing. I'm simply not aware of what did really happen. I may be one day, but even if I'm not, this is not really the issue.
There is only one thing I know. It seems that Tiffany has done a lot of lobbying and convincing this July in Vietnam and that she got what she wanted. It's impressive how some 9 years old little
girl can take a lead on her own life. She arrived back in Bangkok on the evening of the 24th of August with Leslie. Impressive to see how few things she had with her. With her was traveling a letter confirming that Tiffany could live temporary in Bangkok for 4 months. I know, time will tell, but three days ago Tiffany already asked her Mum if we could extend the four months.
La Maison du Bonheur is finally happy! The missing piece has joined the joy! This is the end of a chapter, but more important, this is the beginning of a journey of life...and what a journey!
First let me confirm for those who do not know me. In divorces with children involved, I do believe in share custody. I do believe in putting the children in the middle and having the parents bearing the consequences of their own acts. But to divorce, you need two willing parents. I had a choice, let it go or not. I didn't!
Nearly five years ago Leslie joined me while I was living in Shanghai. This was an amazing joy for me, but the sad reality also that the
work was not over yet. Tiffany was simply not to be with us for years. The arrival of Leslie changed my life. As one of my wise and mature good friend told me at the time. “Now you can restart to build your own family. And you will find love again, but this time she won't be there for what you bring, she will be there for both of you, or she won't be”. She would have to be in love with me, but with my little guy too if I wanted to move forward. And that day happened pretty fast on the 1st April 2008 when I met Mari. Three years and a half on the path to love and happiness!
Leslie is growing a sound teenager, and let be honest, without Mari, Tiffany would not have jumped at the chance of moving with us so early. If you want to have a relationship working, you both need to bring something in it, to build it everyday...Mari brought a lot! Time will tell what the future is made of! Thanks a lot my love!
Tiffany and Leslie have been back to school for three weeks now. Big
change for Leslie as Year 7 in the British system is the entry door to High School. He will be facing more responsibilities and has a new uniform. We've work a lot with Leslie, but it pays! Today he is in the top group in math and English, well done big boy!
Tiffany has integrated Year 5. This smile, this smile all day long, it's nearly make me cry! I've never seen a child so happy to go to school and doing her homework. Ask her what she think about school and she replies...It's fun! She is bright, but there is a lot of work to do, some serious catch up to do! So all the family is behind her for this “fun” challenge!
There is also a new challenge for me if I want to manage to keep our lifestyle. Two international school tuition, it hurts! I promise, I'll work harder and be more creative in the future. We love traveling so much that forget about giving up hitting the road. We'll just have to be more inventive if we want to keep our “style of travel”. But at the end of the day, who cares! I
could be single and diving every single nice spot in the world, that would never replace the cuddles and love of Mari, Leslie and Tiffany!
Enjoy the smiles on the pictures...
Love rules, La Maison du bonheur isn't done with surprises...way more to come in the future....
