I haven't slept more than 2 hours per night since I came here and I'm pretty exhausted right now... Jet lag is only a part of the reason - taking rooms with a fan and noise from Khao San road bars till 5am is the main reason. Dad didn't sleep in the plane at all due to a Hungarian guy snoring loudly next to him during the whole flight... I stayed in marco Polo Guest house for a night, than a Budget guesthouse 2 nights - both a few metres from Khaosan - which is very convenient for a lot of things like food, shopping and entertainment, but not ideal for sleeping at all... So we checked out this morning and we took a great aircon room in PenPark place away from all the noise and hustle - wifi in our room is a plus... My dad arrived at 12 yesterday and after picking him at the airport we dropped his bags in the hotel and went to see a local temple on the way to the river. We crossed a bridge with great views of the city and caught a ferry all the way through Bangkok - the sun was setting so we had a nice golden color reflecting from modern glass buildings along the way. Local transport is dirt cheap - boat ride was only 14 bath/person and it took about 45 minutes to our destination. Then we hopped on a modern airconditioned skytrain that took us to MBK - GIGANTIC and supermodern shopping centre in Bangkok. After buying a few neccesities we caught a bus back to the hotel and by the time we got there dad was pretty exhausted after a busy day :o) He's sleeping right now as last night was a shock to the system for him :o) We started to talk about our plan and after taking is easy today we'll go and see the Grand Palace tomorrow early morning and then we will decide if to go to Koh Tao, Phuket or Phi Phi island overnight... I think it'll be my favourite place Phi Phi as my dad wants to relax for a week somewhere nice before some island hopping, so I can't think of a better place than Phi Phi 😊
