Day 1
After a fab flight with Cathay Pacific we arrived early in Bangkok. We were whisked away (in an organised fashion) into a metered cab to our hotel on Samsen Road. Pleasantly surprised by the accomodation. Huge room with bathroom, balcony, fridge and minibar (dangerous). We went out exploring and after walking through many market stalls we found Khao San Road. Amazed by the cheapness and the fact everything you could ever want to purchase was right here. Lots of food places that looked enticing, restaurants, cafes and stalls.
Traffic is crazy you just have to risk it across the road - no green man!
After getting our bearings we headed back to hotel where we ditched more stuff out our backpacks to make them lighter.
Had dinner downstairs in Sara restaurant for thai food. Amazing. Then visited Khao San Road at night. It's backpackers paradise here. Had a few drinks and watched the world go by. Almost every person on this street is a traveller. We also saw a baby elephant but it's illegal to do this - tourists pay to feed it. Shame.

perhaps a yahmak
perhaps a yashmak would deter the mozzies and act as an alluring garment in such a tropical climate....xxxxx
