So bought a train ticket to Kandy for Monday.... 1st class, 3hr journey.... 500 rupees.... Roughly 2 pounds! Turned out to be air con and everything! Although after a couple of hours was actually too cold...
Amazing views after a few hours of going up... All the doors imbetween the carriages open... People hanging out all the way along the train! Get the feeling the trains should be the preferred method of transport from now.... maybe no more 1st class though....
Bang on 3 hours arrived in Kandy. Put on my backpack for the first time and walked out past the waiting tuktuks.... Well walked about 50m and found another guy with a tuk tuk... No tourist prices please. Went up onto the hill to the south side of the lake... No hostel booked but gave the guy a name and got out there. No rooms left but the next one down had some space... Pretty basic buy nice guys, wifi, and a nice veranda with an amazing view.
Nice to be somewhere a little quieter, although Kandy centre is the same noisy, bustling place. Loads better organised with hundreds of places to eat and loads of bakeries!

Trying not to fall out... Spent a couple days wandering around the centre and walking up and around the lake. An sampling lots of the local eating places! Delicious. Actually spent a lot of time getting lost but definitely know my way round now! Kinda trying not to do everything now, save some bits for when the other one comes! So pretty slow paced life :D
Purchased an umbrella for the downpours, also required to have one for the meditation?! Off to Nilambe tomorrow for 5 days meditation.... so i'll see you on the other side...
