Which way do I go?
Confusing to say the least. A subway gone wild in Tokyo Hi Guys,
We almost missed our flight from Japan. That was because we miscalculated the Express train to Narita Airport that left at 8:05. We should have taken it , assuming that the next one was going to come along shortly. Boy were we wrong. It was 1 hour later! Well if you think a Metro station can be crowded you haven't experienced the one in Osaka. Lets just say that the trains come every 3 minutes and are jammed packed solid. That is going both ways. They have a subway car dedicated just for woman, because men are pigs and grope the woman while packed in like sardines. The experience left us appreciating our metro system and how underused it is. You can pack an additional 1000 people in our cars folks. So lets all use public transit from now on. Oh and something I have not seen before are people selling stuff on the subway cars. We had a guy selling gloves, another one blind playin a harmonica, one selling bag closing clips. Another one selling electric shavers. Lol. Koreans don't need to shave that much.
Because we took Cathay Air there was no direct flight
Crowded. An Understatement
Surprisingly this was orderly in Osaka which would have been 1.5 hours at most, so we had to fly to Taiwan 3 hours then Seoul 2 hours back. Look at a map and you will see what I mean. So by the time we got to our Coop Residence with Kitchenette it was 10 PM. What a wasted day.
Seoul is a huge city with differences in culture then Japan. The women are not as stylish. It is not as clean and orderly and the people don't bow to me as they do in Japan. Lol I bow here and people look at me funny. Cars drive on the left like NA. So we have to retrain our selves again. The food is spicy and picklish.
Shopping in Seoul, is weird. They have shopping areas designated for electronics, fashions, food, mechanical things, hardware , watches, etc.. These areas are huge also.
One day we went to the DMZ. Demiliterized zone between N.Korea and S. Korea. really interesting. We toured a tunnel that the N.Koreans had attempted to finish so that they could invade S. Korea in 1990's. It is interesting to listen to one side of the story and here there side of
it. We also, while we were there saw a small town that the N'Koreans made in the distance, that the S.Koreans claim was empty of people. It was to far away to tell. They called it a propoganda town.
We are also trying to get abit of culture in and are going to see a traditional Korean performance tonight.
Everyone uses cellphones to watch TV, play videogames and text message. These phones are way above the technology that we have. We are 2 years away. The designs of the phones are very special and some are really erganomic for thumb use when text messaging.
See you guys in China. We fly out and will hook up with some freinds and relatives in HK. Hope to send some pics soon.
