Well another day and another dollar! I taught more alone today which was awesome. I feel far more comfortable with the kids when it's just them and I. We did some science today and it was a little taxing, I spent my morning tying knots in string because 95% of the kids refuse to attempt it! I'm actually shocked about my last class which is 8 boys. At first I was like 'oh shit this is going to blow' but they are awesome. I mean a little slow on the uptake the difference between have and has is a tough concept to grasp I guess. Well today I trekked to work alone as Claire goes right from Seoul to work on Monday mornings. I was pretty nervous but I have convinced myself that I traveled across the world alone so I can travel across the city alone, besides the subway system here is beyond easy to understand! I taught a bit alone today which I find easier. There isn't so much pressure to be perfect and it just starts to come naturally. I have a couple kids with some behavioural issues which is hard to deal with just because I am not used to it and I don't want to make them hate me right off. Daegu is what I would consider a clash between East and West, a marvelous clash! I am located a couple miles from downtown Daegu which features back streets that are to narrow for most cars but Koreans don't seem to care. There may be about 100,000 people crowded in the streets but the cars have the right of way and don't even bother to try and block the scooters because they will simply run you down! I don't think I have ever been somewhere where the people are so alive, it's wonderful. The stores vary from international companies like Reebok, Puma, The Body Shop and Starbucks to stores that are strictly Korean.
