The road to Sorsogon, the famed whaleshark hunters' paradise, is like a road to perdition particularly during holy week when traffic is a curse. It is a journey not for the faint-hearted- 500 km long from Manila. Traversing portions of Laguna, Batangas and Quezon, the largest province is an ordeal by itself. We have been doing this, for the past five years, partly as penance and partly to heighten the pleasure of seeing the whalesharks. This time however, we thought of dividing the trip as our tired bodies- aging as they are, badly needed a rest. We made a brief stopover in Bagasbas, Daet .
