Hello everyone,
I am sorry that there has been a delay in information. The problem is 2 parted. The first is that this site has been down and we were not able to get on here. The second is that we have been making our way East.
We are finally in Kathmandu, after making stops in Istanbul and Dubai. Istanbul is a beautiful dreamlike place. I will publish pictures when it seems like an option. The computers in internet cafes in Nepal seem to be quite slow. Dubai was oppressively hot and flourishing with commercialism. The contrast between the UAE and Nepal could hardly be more drastic. Kathmandu is a city teeming with people and cars and motorcycles and bikes and rickshaws and dogs. The streets are unpaved and this added to the traffic make the air putrid and thick. Still, the people are beautiful and warm and the entire city is surrounded by spectacular mountains. We plan to leave here in a couple of days to head to Pokhara, a smaller, quieter place.

Good to hear from you
It was really good to hear from you and begin to picture where you are now. That is a part of the world I know SO little about. You are getting a real education. Nick and I went to a going away party for Katie down at a bar in the city. Although we were the oldest people there by at least 30 years, I think Katie was very happy that we came! Nick is stopping here for breakfast tomorrow on his move out to Pasadena. He has two friends driving with him and they will stop in Moab, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, etc. so it will be fun, not just a boring drive. Let';s see, oh yeah, Lily is walking and running now. Grandma, Nancy and I just spent a week at Cedar Lake (awesome) and I am enjoying the last days of summer. Nick and I will go somewhere in Michigan for a weeks vacation at the end of this month. I guess that's the big news - Dan McKeever is still in the hospital and trying to recover from the last surgery. Pray for him. I love hearing form you but remember how iffy the internet cafes are around the world. We had trouble when we were in Europe last summer. As long as we know that you are happy and healthy we can relax and wish you the greatest of adventures. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
