So this is sort of the opposite of a travel blog... Sean and I have been living in Denver for 2 years and a couple of days. I think we have officially settled in here. Need proof? Check out the cute little house and very cute big puppy we just got. We got the house in late December and immediately started working on it. Very quickly we were off to Michigan to visit with the Browns. After meeting our beautiful new niece, Sage, we returned to Colorado for the New Year. Within a week we had our first house guests. My dad and Uncle Fred drove out to Denver to help us with the house. They worked very hard all week and our guest bedroom is now like brand new. A few days after they left ... read more

Hello Friends! It has been a while since we have sent anything out, but this past week we were able to attend the Democratic National Convention and I have some pictures to share. Mike and Linda (Sean's parents) came to Denver last weekend to visit and to be apart of this exciting politically historical time. They were so kind to find tickets to Barack's speech and then hand them over to Sean, myself, Katie, Dana and Richie. Mike and Linda stayed home with Cecelia to allow Courtney and Dave to come, too. How lucky we all are to have such selfless people in our lives and to have this memory forever. The event was incredible. The crowd was sooo excited and proud to be apart of this great country. The speeches and performances were also incredible. ... read more

Hello to all of you, The past year has been so incredible and we have finally settled into our new home. We are living in Denver, now. The city is great and so is the weather. We also are very lucky to have a whole crew of friends and family here (although, we would love to see more of you out here). Our place is small, but nice. Uncle Fred and my dad worked so hard to help us move. They drove all away out here with all of our crap and then helped us to actually move in. We really owe them so much. Thanks you guys! Sean is working again as a nanny and I am still looking for work. In the meantime, I can assure you all that I am the model housewife. ... read more

Happy Holidays Everybody!!! I returned to the US a little over a week ago. The flight was long and uneventful. I couldn't believe how cold it was when I landed. There was snow on the ground and I was wearing flip flops. Of course, my thoughtful husband met at the luggage area with shoes and a winter coat. Like promised, I also got my cheeseburger and fries that night. Sean is 100% healthy and I almost didn't recognize him at the airport. We have both been working out so as not to succumb the weight the Midwest and holiday season are trying to put on us. We had been staying with Sean's parents for the past week and loving all of the time together. Erika and Andre and their baby Charlotte were there too! Charlotte is ... read more

Hari Om, Life at the ashram continues to be an experience that I am truly blessed to be having. I cannot believe that I only have a week remaining! I have learned so much and am eager to get home and help all of the people I love so much. Yoga is truly a path of personal development, but part of that development is helping those around you. I will be back in the States on Tuesday, Dec. 11. I fly into Michigan. Sean and I will spend Christmas in Evansville. Then we will be in Chicago for New Years. I hope to see many of you in the next month!... read more

Hari Om, That is the yogic greeting at the ashram. It is in reference to the supreme powers in the universe. Life at the ashram is peaceful and quite beautiful. The setting is amazing. I walk out my front door to see the beautiful countryside framed with an interesting range of small mountains. The mountains and entire area are said to be very sacred and devotees of Lord Shiva make pilgrimages here from all over India. The weather is perfect right now. It is cool in the mornings and in the evenings and sunny and warm during the day. The ashram is run by an amazing group of very selfless volunteers. They are all very kind and happy and the mood spreads like wild fire. Our days start at 5:30am with herbal tea. I thought that ... read more

Hey Everybody, Thanks to everyone for thier encouraging messages. We have truly had a rough couple of weeks. I am glad that Sean is safe at home and continuing to recover. Life surely throws us some curve balls. I am in Mumbai (Bombay) now and it is definitely the most metropolitan city in India I've been to. I have only seen one cow in three days and it was tied up. I feel like that is some kind of record. I wanted to share a few pictures from the days that we spent in Diu, for it was a really beautiful place and it was sad that I had to experience it solo. Apparently, this internet cafe does not allow that. Words must suffice. When the stress would become too much, I would get on my ... read more

Hello everyone, this is Sean. I am sadly back in the united states. So here is what happened. We were having a great time traveling as you all have seen and read about. And we were making are way to the coast to go relax and swim in the sea. We wanted to stop in a small town on the way were you can get a $7 message. But on the bus ride there I started to feel really bad. When we got there I felt worse so I rested in bed for a couple of days. After 2 days I thought it was time to see the doctor. He was very nice and he took a blood test for malaria. It came back negative so he thought I just had an infection. The next day ... read more

Hello to everyone, Today, I write from the island of Diu. It is a quaint ex-Portugese place in the Arabian Sea. We plan to stay here for about 10 days to relax before preparing to split up for a month. After 3 months together non-stop, it will be a bit hard to part. India is getting easier to handle. I am beginning to "get" how it works here. I am also getting used to bus travel, which can range from overcrowded and bumpy to smooth and comfy. There is no way to tell what you might get, so you must be prepared for anything. The pictures that I am attaching are from two places. The first ones are from a small town called Pushkar. It is set on a holy lake and is where Ghandi's ashes ... read more
