Goodbye.... It is with a sad heart that I write my final blog (for now anyway...) from Hudhuran Fushi in the beautiful Maldives... I don't know where the past couple of months have gone - it's flown by and tomorrow I return to the UK... at least one dress size smaller (without Gym useage...) and a with a subtle golden tan... until I hit the beach later and turn into a human lobster... I would like to give massive thanks to all my friends who have read, commented and supported me with my blogs - writing them has kept me sane and nearly prevented me (but not quite) from getting island fever!!! There have been many highs and a few lows along the way but I have survived - at times I felt like I was ... read more

Good morning to you all from the beautiful sunny Maldives... I'm hoping everyone has fully recovered from the festive excesses...? And that noboby is feeling the January blues... I've had quite a bit going on work wise (for a change) and never quite seemed to have the time to give you all an update - at the start of January I was ill for a few days... mainly just a fever but it knocked me off my feet for a bit so I was pleased when I got over that and could start to enjoy island life again. Talking of enjoying island life... I cannot believe I am only here for another two weeks!!! My little stint in paradise has gone way too quickly... and to think I didn't think I would like being on a ... read more

WELCOME TO 2013 - I hope it will bring everyone all they desire! So this is just a little add on blog from New Years Eve to say I hope you all had a fab time wherever and however you were celebrating... Me, I partied till about 4am... would you really expect anything less...? It was a fanastic beach party and definitely worth the lack of sleep... I really do believe now that sunloungers were invented for the morning after the night before :-) Only one other thing to tell you all... Capt.Morgan and I have parted company for the forseeable future - we're still mates so a reunion could take place... but for now - he's back on the shelf! Happy New Year and have fun wherever you are in our wonderful world Tallulah x ... read more

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM HUDHURAN FUSHI!!! It's a beautiful sunny day and I just wanted to wish everyone the very best of everything for 2013 - I hope wherever you are in the world your New Year is fab!! And peaceful, and spiritual (of the Cptn.Morgan type...), and FUN! I've had a great week apart from a couple of falling down incidents - read on to find out what/who fell where/when... And it's a bit of a long blog too, there's been a lot going on... The island has been a non stop party zone since Christmas Eve with some people getting into it more than others... why on earth do people come on holiday to somewhere as fantastic as the Maldives to be miserable - it's beyond me, anyway here at party central we had ... read more

CHRISTMAS WISHES FROM THE MALDIVES... So I'm sat in reception (as opposed to the bar...) amidst a million twinkly fairy lights that really do prove Christmas is well and truly here... only two sleeps till Santa comes - there is a joke in there somewhere but it's a bit too rude to put on the blog... I hope everyone, wherever you are in the world, has a peaceful and safe Festive Season - I really will be thinking of you all in the cold while I'm sunning myself in 32c... In saying that I maybe shouldn't be quite so full of myself... after my last blog we had a few days of torrential rain - it also actually felt cold!! I never ever thought that I would wear a hooded sweatshirt in the Maldives... but I ... read more

Good evening from Hudhuran Fushi - I hope everyone is well and getting hysterical about Crimbo... I'm not... I'm just exceptionally pleased to be away from it all in the middle of the Indian Ocean and as you know from my previous blog rather than have the hassle of buying a fair few presents that people don't usually want anyway I have adopted a Polar Bear, a Snow Leopard and a Penguin... which took me about 10 minutes online - it is definitely the way forward! Christmas has arrived in leaps and bounds on the island now, with numerous decorations, twinkly lights and a Christmas Tree... I'm still struggling to accept it's Crimbo though as 32c just isn't what I'm used to in December! We also have a wish tree - I put my wish on ... read more

Good Evening from a lovely warm evening on Hudhuran Fushi... I hope everyone who is reading my blog is well, this week I've been island hopping, had a very poor attempt at diving and done quite a lot of drinking - which got me into the whole diving situation to start with :-) I don't know if I mentioned this before (if I did - I apologise) but on Hudhuran Fushi, for some bizarre reason that I have yet to discover, they serve spirits and cocktails in pint glasses... I'm thinking they give you sooooo much alcohol that they need the pint glass to allow room for the mixer... anyway, the point is after 3 pints of dark rum and coke I agreed to try diving - I was terrified and just could not allow my ... read more

Gone Fishing... or rather been fishing - I have never been remotely interested in fishing in my life but this week I decided to tag along on the sunset fishing cruise and I have to say I really enjoyed it. I caught 4 fish which I thought was pretty good for a first attempt... Everything that was caught was taken back to the island to be cooked for dinner the following day - shame I'm not keen on fish but at least nothing was wasted... And the sunset was just amazing... Bobbing about on the Indian Ocean in the dark was an incredible experience too, it was as if someone had painted a midnight blue canvas and splattered a million tiny droplets of white paint on it to make stars - they were so bright and ... read more

Good evening and warm greetings from a rain drenched Hudhuran Fushi Yes, it rains here too... but it's nice warm rain - bit like taking a shower and the powers that be are being kind today, we've had sunny interludes too :-) A quick but massive thank you to everyone who is reading my travel blogs, I hope you're enjoying them as much as I'm enjoying writing them - so much easier than sending postcards and I feel I'm finally in the 21st century! So what have I been up to in the past few days... we'll get the name and shame bit over and done with first... The alcohol free zone is no more! A 50/50 dark rum & coke is just too good to resist! And I had a good reason which I will ... read more

I was determined to start the day very early as this was the only full day I would spend in Maldives. I wanted to see every change of color in the sky and it’s reflection on sea during the entire day. But as usual, even after setting the alarm clock I missed the sunrise. I never seem to be able to wake up so early. But none the less, I did get out of my room by 6 am- which was a pretty early start. The sky was very light blue and as I stepped into the water, a rush of cold ran through my spine. After the November night, the water was cold! But not for long, by 7 am, sun was up and bright and the water warmed up pretty quickly. After breakfast we took ... read more
