Well we left Phuket early this morning and arrived in Kuala Lumpur around noon. It was a short flight (only an hour 25 minutes) but very much a different world. Kuala Lumpur is a very modern city with an impressive transit system. The Train from the airport to downtown was very nice and relaxing as they played soft music in the background. The people have been very friendly and helpful as well - even more so than in Thailand.
Once settled into the hotel (Impaina), Steven and I headed out for the Petronas Towers and then on to KL Little India and Chinatown. We had some great Indian food in a local hole-in-the-wall. Only $5 dollars for both of our meals. We then headed toward Petaling Street in the heart of Chinatown. Petaling Street was very crowded and chaotic but well worth the trip. Tonight, assuming Steven doesn't fall asleep, we are going to head to Bukit Bintang which is supposed to be the heart of local nightlife. Then tomorrow afternoon it is off to Bali...
