Poukham cave, Vang Vieng, Laos
After the most amazing banana pancakes, covered in chocolate syrup for breakfast (curiously served with salad - what the???), a bunch of us hired pushies & set off exploring. We found our way to a cave about 6km away, which we discovered required a 50m climb almost straight up before we arrived at the entrance. There was cool Buddah shrine inside & behind it the cave continued on for a few hundred metres (at a guess). I ventured in with Terry & Cormac for about half an hour & still didn't reach the end. We exited the cave to a torrential downpour & slowly scaled back down the hillside to rejoin the group. It was still hot & so I took a refreshing dip in the Lagoon to rinse of all the mud & sweat. We set off in the minibus mid afternoon & continued onto Vientiane, where the craving for Western food became too great & I succumbed to pizza for dinner.
