Waiting in the early morning for the merit making Today we got up rather early, like 5:00 a.m. ... which was a little too early for a holiday. But with the traditional 'must-do' in Luangprabang, we'd really like to experience it: giving sticky rice to monks as merit making.
At six-ish we finally started off from the hotel. When we arrived at the side of the road it was still dark. Our group located as the very first group of merit makers that the monks would be given rice.... we even had a "grandma" of our own :D... She was so cute, very very local, and naive. She sat with us and made a nice chat while we were there. The scene of monks walking past us is amazing - calm and fulfilling -- despite the fact that we were so busy picking up sticky rice from the 'kratib'....
After the event, we walked to a nearby wat, called Wat Maisutharam. And walking further more to visit the most famous wat in Luangprabang -- Wat Xiengthong. After paying respect to the Buddha's image inside the temple, we did a lottttttttt of photo taking - as usual 😊

We took off again late morning. Before lunch we went to another wat called "Wat Prathat Makmo". After lunch somewhere on the way, we went straight to the waterfall called "Taad Gwangxi", which is about an hour or so out of Luangprabang. It is one of the waterfalls that Laotians come to visit when they want to picnic and enjoy themselves...
That night we had dinner at a restaurant called "Le Papillon". The food was great, and the atmosphere was nice. We were sad that the holiday was about to end soon. So, that night, to ease our sorrow we went for shopping at the Night Market (again!!!). I still could not get the woven cloth I intended to buy, as I
