The Buddha's footprint at Wat Prabhat Tai, out of Luangprabang On the last day of the trip, some of us got up early to have another "feel" for the early morning market, but I was not one of those. Getting up early for merit making is enough for this trip :p .... When I woke up and went out to have breakfast they had not arrived back yet. However, after they arrived we enjoyed what they talked about and what they bought for us as well.
This morning we went to visit one temple: Wat Prabhat Tai - if I'm not mistaken. ... The temple is near our hotel, and also on the way to a village where we intended to go in the program. ... Watching how to make Sa paper at a village cliff over to the Mekhong river, and the rail that prevent people from falling was so small. ............ But I eventually managed that, though not quite happy.
We finally made our last stop for shopping craft and woven cloth at a village outsid eof Luangprabang. They showed us how to make Sa paper -- somewhat like in Chiangmai. Then we walked on our own to other houses to buy the woven cloth. ...... To my gladness I finally found two pieces of identical style of woven cloth so I could send them for making a (big) jacket for myself. We spent quite a long time there -- of course with all the women shopped, shopped, shopped.
The last meal in Luangprabang was a lunch back in town. We also found Wine Lao, and 7 Up in Lao language as well 😊
This concluded our trip in Luangprabang, when we took a flight back with Bangkok Airways in the afternoon of January 13th, 2008. It was a nice and memorable trip, and I wish I would have a chance to return there once again.....
