Today we took advantage of the sunny weather and hired a bike out for the day.

First we cycled to the silver pavilion (Ginkakuji temple) the building wasn't silver but the gravel was ,sort of and was raked quite posh (pictures don't do it justice). Unfortanately maintanance was on so we were unable to enter the main hall.

After a picnic by the river we headed of to Kyoto's prefectual botanical park. It was a lot bigger than I expected and had different types of garden in each part of the park. Think the conservatory was our favourite part (various different climates throughout) and the fountain was a very pretty part too.

On the cycle back, my chain came of my bike and a kind lady offered me a hand (and some wet wipes)-people are so kind around the area.

Just sitting down to a pot noodle (Daves was called "The Man") and meeting the new guests, over some free sake (makes socialising nice and cheap!-thankyou Budget Inn!)
