Got up a bit earlier than we had been doing today. We decided we would walk to the Golden pavillion (Kinkakuji Temple). It was supposed to be raining so we took umbrellas but ended up carrying them all day because the weather turned out to be gorgeous.

The Golden pavillion was really pretty and was the best photo we have taken for days. When we had walked around the pavillion, we went to Ryoanji temple. This temple is famed for its zen rock garden (apparently the best example in the world). The garden was good but I much prefer the usual example of Japanese gardens which have plant life.

On our walk home we visited 2 little shrines called Wara-tenjin shrine and Hirano-jinja shrine. We also stopped off at mcdonalds where we had a mega mac (like a big mac but with four burgers).

For tea Kirsty decided she wanted to try a cooked meal from a vending machine (chicken and 5 chips) it was not very nice and we probably won't be trying that again.

Just relaxing again tonight with some more free sake-should be fun.
