I'm a sucker for an airline sale and while sitting around on maternity leave Air Asia had a sale for tickets to Bali for Aud$125 return!!!! How could i not buy those! The little miss is only about 8 weeks old but really thats the perfect time for a little trip - all she will do is sleep and i'm still feeding her so free food, no sterilisation required and she'll have my immune system - perfect! Plus after all the family and chaos that occurs having a baby its time a break 😊

We've not been to Legian before so figured we'd give it a go for some where different....so i booked into the Melasti which had these little villa rooms with a sliding door between the main room and a room with 2 single beds. Perfect! The hotel was really cheap and very child friendly but probably about 3 star. It had that sort of old mouldy feel that you can get in bali a lot. Everything was clean and i think 30 years ago this was some amazing hotel but it was as if no one had scrubbed the outside or painted it in that time. It had 2 pools but one was full of drunken bogan aussies with no real room to go elsewhere so a bit much for a very interested 3 year old.

The hotel backed on to the beach which was quite lovely with lots of casual bars and a heap of restaraunts about a 10 min walk up the beach road. The stalls and shops seemed to be cheaper on the city side of the hotel than in kuta or tuban so we bought some cheaper free clothes for the Midgit. Other than that, we didnt do much! Just ate heaps of cheap local food, relaxed in the pools and walked on the beach a bit. A very nice relaxing long weekend 😊)
