escape from pune!!!

Had a big lie in , packed and went to Gourmet restaurant for brunch (tomato soup and cheese on toast). Wandered up to the email place- spent 3 hours there. Emailed lots of people and told lonely planet about the farce aka Shree Maya and the rickshaw rip off merchant in pune.
Wandered back to Gourmet place and got a banana pancake. Hired a rickshaw bloke and left the shit hole at 18:30 on a sleeper bus- interesting layout- 2 share a bunk which consists of a walled 6ft by 4ft room- which is one complete matress and at the end of the matress is a pillow moulded into it - comfy enough although not alot of space for 2 peole, 4 bags and trainers. Stopped twice for drinks, loo and .Appeared to have slept some of the time

woken up at 06:30 - arrival into Mapusa for all northern beach resorts- decided we will go to the capital first (panaji) . Booked into Panaji inn (bit extortionate- rs 810 and bloody loads of tax!), however room comfortable and mosaic tiled bathroom lush. Went to explore- pleasant/ clean city. Has nice river and canal. Had lunch at venito hotel- tuna salad (yum yum!!) It plays western music...... even the whole of the moon by the water boys! Problem with Panaji was that everything was shutj for siesta including tourist info which took ages to find! Decided to leave tomoz, as not a huge amount to do. Got a taxi sorted for Rs 250 to take us to vagator. Went back to hotel and had a drink on the verandah- extortionate prices!!! worte a letter. Went to uclipi boarding house for evening meal (very cheap)- 3 beers and 2 curries for £1.50. Had a couple of more beers at the hotel before bed
