Mumbai

We didn't actually stay in Mumbai- we stopped there for some dinner and a walk while we waited for our next train connection. Our journey from Udaipur to Goa took 36 hours in total and three trains. The first leg, from Udaipur to Ahamdebad, was a comfy overnight sleep in a private cabin. The second connection, from Ahamdebad to Mumbai, was only 10 hours- but we had to sit in chairs, which was pretty uncomfy. (you can see in the picture below what happens when you try to sleep in a hot, upright seat all day and you have a bored girlfriend with a camera)

Mumbai was great- we went to a lively bar/restaurant where we had some awesome fruity-biryani-style south Indian food and lots of cheap beer. Then we took a walk to India Gate on the seafront and caught our train at 11pm. We were on a waiting list for a train seat because its so busy this time of year. So busy, in fact, that we had to share a place! Both of us had to sleep on one little bench (which means Pete had to sleep on the floor, in the aisle). We also were lucky enough to be seated in the middle of a student holiday party! So after a long night, we finally arrived in Goa!

You two have been busy!
Like the train pictures, but I'm glad they don't capture the smell, it looks a little too cosy!

Hi
I can’t believe you are sitting their all smiles with your new 'friends' it makes Ruwi look like heaven! You both really made the most of India, but is it a place you will return to? When you get this I am sure you will have had a long bath and making the most of Thailand, keep chillin. Have a great time and say hi to Pete and Charlie Boy. Love to all .XXXXXXXXXX
