Edit Blog Post

Sorry its been so long since our last blog but we are sooooo busy and just havent had much chance! Thank you for all your comments, we love reading them. We miss you all loads! We dont really get time to respond to them individually but keep them coming! Hopefully when we leave China, things will slow down a bit and we should get time to relax and respond!

So, Shanghai....

Well, we were lucky on the sleeper train, it ended up being just the 2 of us, although we didnt sleep well as every time it stopped, we expected someone to get on! I think this one was about 14 hours.
It was freezing when we got to Shanghai! Apparently it had been nice and hot and sunny all week, and obviously the weather changed as soon as we got there! Our hostel was ok, a bit quiet and felt a bit like an old peoples home. We only stayed there 2 nights and moved to a different one. The second was better, still quiet, but it had a nice rooftop bar.
We stayed for 5 nights in Shanghai, it was ok, but we werent overly keen on it, plus it was very expensive! We wandered round the bund, which is next to the river, went across it on a sightseeing tunnel, which was a right rip off (if anyone who is reading this and planning Shanghai...dont go on this!), it was just a carriage in a tunnel with loads of Christmas lights and some sort of voice over saying random words like "Magma" and "Fossils".
We had a few nice meals here though, although the first night we went to some Jazz bar (with no actual jazz), and again got ripped off...although it was nice. We tried Sushi, Craig liked it..I was nearlly sick. We went to a nice little italian place which was quite cheap, and they asked me if I would taste the wine and write down some comments as they were thinking about serving it there! (we think it was their own homemade stuff). I know nothing about wine at all (even though I drink plenty), so I just made up some crap I have probably read on the blossom hill bottle.

We havent done much here really, It has been good, but not our favourite so far. We are off to Hong Kong on yet another sleeper train (20+ hours long this time!)

We should have more to write about in Hong Kong! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
