After debating about going travelling for months on end, we have decided to go for it and we're sure we've made the right decision! Quit the 9-5, rented out the house, moved back in with the parents to save, and we hope to be able to afford minimum of 6 months! If our money stretches longer than that...great! But we'll see.
Here's the plan: (whether we stick to it or not is a different story?!)
In order:
Dubai
China
Hong Kong
Vietnam
Cambodia
Thailand
Malaysia
Singapore
Philippines
If we have money left then possible Australia and NZ or North America? who knows..

We arrived in KL extremely hot and sweaty after our bus journey. We started walking round China town for somewhere to stay, when we met a guy called Shaun who was very nice and helpful and told us a nice cheap hotel to stay in. We were right in the middle of the market which was very tempting to spend everytime we walked through! We didn't do much in KL, as its very expensive...we even paid £5 for 2 beers, and it was crappy Carlsberg! We should have made a runner when we got the bill. We spent a day being teased by hundreds of shops when we wandered round the shopping centres. I managed to control myself from not buying anything PLUS I went in 2 Topshops! Was very proud. We visited the Petronas Towers

Saying that, it was still warm during the day but we did need a jacket on a night! We arrived at our guesthouse which was another dingy little room, this time with shared bathrooms. There were always HUGE flying bugs in them too. We booked ourselves on a tour of the Highlands and planned to leave the next day. We got up very early to be picked up in a 4x4 with buffalo horns on the front to be taken on our way. When we got to the Jungle, we realised why they need the offroad cars! It was a steep

He had a T shirt on saying "DONT TRUST ANYBODY". Quite ironic we think. Luckily we got our passports back safely. We stayed in Langkawi for a few days and slept quite a lot. We were pretty exhausted as it seems to be none stop sometimes. (I know.....poor us!). Langkawi was ok, but there was one thing that seemd to be a massive change compared to Thailand... Not everywhere sells beer. I know; this was quite disturbing for us too, but we managed to find an Irish bar and a shop that sold beer. Obviously with the majority of the population being Muslim, beer is

It is about 3 times more expensive than anywhere else in Thailand. We paid 1200 baht for our room which was disguisting, smelt of drainage and we didnt have a flushing toilet. We paid less in Bangkok and got a room the size of an apartment! Nevertheless, Phi Phi does live up to its name. It is gorgeous, theres nice bars, shops etc. and if you want quieter you can find it. We went on a day trip to see Maya Bay (which is off the film "The Beach") which is WOW! It is the whitest sand ever, its like powder! The sea is as warm as

The view was amazing, although the driver was a bit crazy driving really fast round bends with huge drops over the side. Yet another white knuckle ride! As soon as we got ourselves a room sorted we visited the dive shops to try and find ourselves a good deal! There's not much else to do but dive, but thats what we went for so it was ok! Oh and we spent Valentines night sat on a bench outside the supermarket drinking cans of Chang. Craig did buy me some nuts though! The dive sites we did were East of Eden and Elephant head rock. We were told we would have a English dive instucter,

After Petchaburi we headed to Cha am where we sunned ourselves for a few days but not much else. It was just full of old people. Then we got the train to Chumphon where we were getting the ferry to Koh Tao, our first Thai island! We left for the ferry at 5.30am and it was actually still dark when we got up! The ferry was full of tourists and we were bombarded with touts trying to get us to stay at their hotels at the other end. Its not what you need at 5.30am!! We decided to go with one of the dive resorts

It took us a while to spot one - which Craig spotted the first, then you couldn't walk a few feet without spotting loads. They are climbing on the buildings, on the cables above your head and on top of cars! You cant eat or drink on the street or they will take it from you..they are very greedy! Some of the locals have big sticks or catapults to keep the nasty ones away! We only spent one day there, as its a small place with not much to do. We visited a few Wat (temples) including the monkey temple. You can buy fruit and

When we first got there, we wandered around to find our feet and ended up in a bar having a few too many! It was a good night, we watched the dirty old men with the young Thai girls, and seen an elephant that wandered past. The next day we rented bicycles and cycled to the zoo. It was a really good day, you can get ridiculously close to the animals and can even feed some of them includng the leopards and hippopotamuses. We both fed the giraffes. We also seen pandas eventually after not getting to see them in China! Although we didnt get to see the baby, as they only let it

We got to Siem Reap after a 7 hour bus ride, little did we know it would turn out to be the 7 hour Cambodian kareoke bus ride from Hell. We had booked a place called Rosy guesthouse, it was a touch out of our price range but we thought what the hell its Christmas. We got there a day early because we had spent too long in Phnom Penh (We have developed a kind of lazy attitude to planning and deciding when we should pack up and go. Sure its no surprise to you) Traveling is sometimes relentless, as we steped off
