Having a 4 day holiday in Ngapli Beach was a good idea . We were ready to move on and it did take a bit of effort to get to Mrauk . We flew to Sittwe , the capital city of the area , had to overnight in a dingy hotel then take a 7 am ferry . Peanuts!!

Fresh , lightly roasted and served as an appetizer before most meals . They were really good .

Classic

Classic image of Burma. I bought a small oil painting of this image while we were in Bagan . It hangs in my kitchen to remind me of these days.

Sakyamanaung Pagoda Complex

The form and shaping are incredibly calming.

Koethaung Pagoda

90,000 Buddhas is the popular name for this , the largest of the surviving temples. We had spent that morning walking through the village and the countryside .The temperture wa perfect and the people we encountered were ever so helpful pointing out the way to get to the temples.

Shwetaung Temple , the hills and Frangipani in bloom. Our last afternoon before it got too hot to wander about .

The last Sunrise

Back on the river for the return ferry ride to Sittwe and a flight to Yangon. Just beautiful!

Morning Pam. Great pictures. Coffee bars sure don't look like the ones in Regina. It looks like your on a boat. It's nice to travel to all these places through your photos. Thanks.

Wow, the road!
Pam, that shot of the road says it all. And it made me laugh! How do they do it? Extra tires would be necessary, I would guess, for any trip. I also love the Buddha face coming out of the dark. Lovely. Great photos.
