Flying in Burma was good for we did get to see the land formations , mountain ranges , rivers , deltas ... It is not a wonder that the burmess travel so much by boat . Slow it is but not nearly as bumpy.
Arriving in Yangon and getting a taxi to the hotel was a bit like coming home . The young people at the desk smiled big smiles and welcomed us most pleasantly . Our room wasn't very large but it was clean and bright and there were fluffy towels and a great shower ... even though it was a corner of the bathroom ...something common in many countries I have travelled in .It was Chinese New Year and the streets were filled with people and celebrations . As much as I loved Mrauk it felt good to be in a city again...mind you the bustle the next day made taking the 3 hour commuter train a pleasant way to observe . These will be the last photos I send from Myanmar . I hope you have enjoyed them!

I watched her cook several nights . She would break up the critters and pop then into the oil to cook . Fascinating...but not brave enough to try it ...that oil was HOT

We had lunch at a restaurant on the top of an office tower built by the Japanese .As you can see the city is/has come a long ways in the last 20 years. In the distance you can see the Schwedagon Pavillion.

The church has just celebrated it's 100th Anniversary .A block over from it is the AungSan Market , the largest in the country . Not for foodstuffs but for everything else.

Sorry to see the end of these, Pam
I've really enjoyed these. Thanks! I couldn't see all the text for these as the site couldn't find their locations? But the photos are great.

When did you have time to organize these?
We thought you were in DC with Dorina to look at blossoms. Hope you enjoyed that. The pics are very interesting. Some of the foods look like they would be neat to try. Happy Easter. Tks for the pics. Love, R&C
