Dear Friends of the blog, We are in the big city of Dar-es-Salaam for manditory physicals, dentals, and tech training. so far we passed with flying colors and are healthier than ever. Lower blood pressure, cholesterol, lower weight, and more muscle...there are pluses for joining the Peace Corps, not to mention new culture, language, friends, and a sense of purpose. We feel wonderful and happy to see all of our classmates after a year. Tomorrow we will hear about other's projects and challenges. We will then have a session of behavioral change which we all know will be very helpful as we enter our final year. Where has the time gone? The staff has been very helpful and everyone is on a emotional high. Did I mention you can get ice cream and cappucchino in Dar? Lots of delicious Indian food and good sharing of ideas and food. Some PCVs actually spent time on the beach so we joined them for the day. This is enough for now. Dar also has high speed interneti so this has been a pleasure. The differences between Dar and the villages is great, but after a week of big city noises, traffic, public dala-dalas being overcrowed, pollution, and the usual big city indifference we will be very happy to take the long bus trip home to our village. thanks for reading and caring about what we are doing. We miss you all and think of you often. karibu Tanzania. love, Dave & Wendy
