ok i'm going to throw some of this down for you guys:

Food:
beans: we have this daily, either red beans, lentils, or some little yellow bean i mistake for corn. usually served in "bean stew" or cooked beans in mushed bean sauce in a pot.

avocados: they are huge here! again we eat them daily, usually in a salad at lunch.

tomatoes: again in a salad at lunch with avocados.

cucumbers: a friend of the tomatoe and avocado, in the lunch salad.

soup: we have soup everyday at lunch. they look really bland but are full of fresh veggies flavours as our chef, Japhet, makes them from scratch for us. varieties include: tomatoe, french onion, cucumber, potatoe.

potatoes: they show up at lunch or dinner, usually mashed, somtimes roasted chunks.

rice: alternates with the potatoes, usually slightly flavoured. once we had pilau rice which was rad!

pasta: we had lasagna twice, mac n cheese once, starting to crave pasta!

mdazi: african doughnuts YUM!

chicken: we have chicken every second day, it's always random parts with a crispy coating. i usually don't have any, after you see the chickens running around town eating at the garbage dump it seems to lose it's appeal. also the pieces are not too meaty, much scrawnier here.

fish: i said i would try it and i did twice. still not sold on it.

bananas: everyday! off the clump, sliced, fried banana fritters, or even once with chocolate sauce!

Noises:
the rooster: i've be able to sleep through the rooster this week!

cows: Mooo! they tie them to the side of the roads for graving.

the generator: when the electricity goes down they fire up the loud generator at night, but at least we can see what we are doing.

mzungu! little kids shout mzungu to us are we walk through town, it means white person, but they aren't being mean.

i'm running out of internet time.... more to come later...
