Cape Town!!Cape Town!!Cape Town!!

View on the way back from Robben Island
Ok so originally right now I'm supposed to be hiking Table Mountain, but due to the shitty weather we've been having all week the top of the mountain is still covered in fog/clouds and apparently a lot of people fall off the mountain when that happens. Plus, it's been raining non stop so there's a chance of mudslides or some crap like that. Either way, I don't get to hike a mountain. So what do I do? Pay good money to post pictures for all of you.
Lets see... to sum it all up, basically we took a tour of the city, wandered around an old castle fort (the oldest building in cape town), went to a district 6 museum (this is where all the people in district 6 were forced to leave their homes in the 1960s because of their skin color. did you know that at the university it was all white students until 1994?), went to some gardens, went to the market (where I discovered i'm not cut out for bargain shopping- i'm not a big enough bitch) and called it a day. when i have to drive a car later this summer i'm seriously going to die

That stadium is where they will be playing the 2010 world cup- it's literally across the street from where we are staying. I wish I was here next summer!
because drivers here are CRAZY! or if i'm just walking i'm going to die- there are a ton of pedestrian/car accidents- one i saw the dude was still stuck under the car. if you're an emt here you would have your work cut out for you. they don't stop for pedestrians like we do. we found this awesome cuban restaurant around the corner from where we are staying and we've gone there for drinks a few times and tonight we're going back for salsa dancing.
Yesterday we went down to cape of good hope / cape point- and it would have been one of the most beautiful places EVER if it wasnt so damn rainy and windy. literally i felt like i was getting hit with needles. the wind there was INSANE. haha quote from one of the girls- "i'm hot and wet and normally i like it but not today!" hahaha... that was when we all had to get back in our van when we were soaking wet. but the beach there was GORGEOUS- i'm definitely going back when it's nice out. it kinda felt like hiking around on the north shore in a way. then we went up
