Fez vs Marrakech
Hi there, I can't give you the answer on this choice, I didn't go to Fez. However, my two blogs to date on Morocco and eventually another on Essaouira (when I get to it) would almost fill your 10 days. It could go something like this: use Marrakech as a base, 3 day trip to the Sahara, another day trip or 2 days in the mountains, 2 full days IN Marrakech itself and then off to the coast at Essaouira (and/or Agadir) for 2 days. There is a lot to see and do in Morocco and I will return again to pick up where I left off. I hope this helps you decide what to do. Have a great holiday! Lynne

Sorry forgot to answer your other questions
The Medina is the area inside the inner city walls. Jemaa El Fna is the main square inside these walls of Marrakech. It is one of THE most exciting places to visit, sit and watch the spectacle pass by while drinking mint tea and eating Tajine.
