It has finally stopped raining!!!!! :D
A bit of a scare this past weekend the other volunteers and I were supposed to take a cat-cat to Tulear for the weekend for some good steak and good drinks and good cheese but due to a tad bit of scheduled political instability we rescheduled our weekend adventure for next weekend… Good thing we did because we got hit with the dying end of a cyclone and the wind and rain were C.R.A.Z.Y. Kajsa(another volunteer) and I were both quite happy for the break in the heat but after three days of constant rain and the volunteer hut being so oversaturated with water that the normally waterproof straw hut was raining from the inside and absolutely everything was wet, we were getting anxious to be dry and hot again. We got our break today though with an enormous, beautiful rainbow to start off a new, dry, sunny day. This morning Alice(the dive instructor) took Sam and I (Ted was supposed to come too but he was congested and had to sit this one out) to do our two final dives of the advanced certification: Deep and Drift. The deep dive was amazing… no other word for it just AMAZING. We dropped in to the site called The Wall and had to descend quite quickly because there was such a strong current on the other side of the barrier where we were. Once we got down we hit a sandy bottom and had to swim for a bit before this enormous coral wall emerged in front of us. I do have to admit I had my first tangle with nitrogen Narcosis (or being Narked) because we were down at 28 meters. I was giggling uncontrollably when we tried to do the underwater math test and I also had the incredible urge to dance… also, every time I exhaled and the bubbles went past my ears it sounded like crystals jangling. One thing I did not know is that the color red no longer appears at 28 meters… Alice had a color slate to show us and the red was just a dull grey/blue. Sooooooo many lionfish, travelleys, tuna, ribbon eels, butterflyfish and bait balls on that wall it was absolutely spectacular! The drift dive was also filled with so many different fish and it was nice because we didn’t have to do any swimming at all!

On a eu peur un petit peu cette fin de semaine passé moi et les autres volontaires étaient supposés de prendre un cat-cat a Tulear pour la fin de semaine mais a cause de la situation politique il fallait ré-planifier pour la fin de semaine prochaine… c’est bien a cause qu’on c’est fait frappés par la fin d’un cyclone et le vent et la pluie était complètement FOUS> Kajsa (une autre volontaire) et moi on étaient contentes pour une pause a la chaleur mais après trois jours de pluie et le bâtiment (normalement imperméable) en paille pour les volontaires était tellement saturer d’eau qu’il pleuvait dans la maison et tous était complètement trempés on commençait a vouloir avoir chaud de nouveau. On a eu notre pause aujourd’hui avec un arc-en-ciel énorme pour commencer la journée. A matin, Alice (l’instructeur de plongée) à amener Sam et moi (Ted était supposer de venir aussi mais il était congestionner) pour faire notre plongée finale dans la certification avancée : Creux et a la Dérive. La plongée creuse était absolument merveilleuse… rien autre que MERVEILLEUX. On est rentré au site appeler Le Mur et il fallait descendre assez rapidement pour pas ce faire emporter par le courant très fort à l’extérieur de la barrière ou on était. Une foi au fond, nous avons nagé un petit peu et un mur énorme de corail est apparu devant nous. Je dois reconnaitre que j’ai connut la narcose de l’azote parce que nous étions a 28 mètres. Je n’arrêtais pas de rigoler quand j’ai essayé de faire le test de math sous l’eau et je ne pouvais pas supprimer l’envie de danser… aussi, en écoutant aux bulles qui passait mes oreilles, ils sonnaient comme des cristaux qui claquetaient. Une chose que je connais maintenant que je ne connaissais pas avant c’est que la couleur rouge ne peut pas pénétrer à 28 mètres… Alice avait une fiche des couleurs et le rouge avait l’aire d’un gris/bleu. Tellement de poissons-lions, des trevalleys, du thon, des anguilles de ruban, des poissons-papillons et des boules d’appât au mur c’était complètement spectaculaire! La plongée a la Dérive était aussi remplie de poissons et ca faisait du bien de ne pas avoir à nager du tous et juste de s’assoir et observer!
