The real deal! The real deal! The real deal!

Wow. It's unbelievable to see all these real animals in their natural surroundings!
Hi everyone,

I think this is the part many of the young people have been waiting to see! And it was magical!!!!!

I'll keep the note short for now as it is getting late and I am tired. I will add more detail tomorrow when I send Part 4 of Kenya, which included a special visit to a village in Masai Mara and my hot air balloon ride. What an eye-opener and what an adventure!

So, we arrived in Masai Mara, and booked into the Keekorok Lodge where we stayed for 2 nights. It was a long drive and there were challenges when we arrived at the Lodge. I will say that Carl, our senior Tour Guide, is superb! He handled things very well and very professionally (the Lodge had double-booked and many of our people did not have rooms when we arrived! Not good! And it wasn't all fixed right away either.........)

Anyway, Leona and I checked into our room and it was quite acceptable. Very basic, but very acceptable. No internet access, no telephone, no TV.........basically, we were on the Game Reserve and we were there to enjoy nature at its best. We had dinner

They are all around the Lodge
and hit the sack. The following day (and I don't even know what day is what anymore!) we headed out on Safari! Wow. Wow. Wow! We were there for 2 days and the weather, while overcast, was perfect for us. We saw it all! It was just like on National Geographic, only better, 'cause we were there!!!!!

I'll add more detail tomorrow but, for now, enjoy the photos! These are for you: Kalen, Brian, Heather, Brody, Kyle, Sean, Ryan, Samantha, Adam, Ben, Evan.......and all the other little people following this journey!

Good night for now, from Cairo! Tomorrow is a full day but I'll add to the blog in late afternoon. We are off to the pyramids! Whooohooooo!

Happy Pat
