Kigali, Rwanda
Roads waiting for traffic A few observations in my recent trip to Rwanda and Nairobi:
1. You are supposed to have Yellow fever vaccination before entering these countries, but no one at immigration is bothered to check.
2. There is no loo on the airports after security check. So get in at the last minute.
3. Do not exchange currency at airports. You will get better rates in town.
4. Start negotiating, the moment you get down. They expect it.
5. Bike taxis in Rwanda are safe and cheap. Try atleast once in your trip.
6. If you are vegetarian, ask for Indian food.
7. The African women carry big fruits. Control yourself.
8. Shop for curios? Bargain hard - you may bring down the price from 3800 to 800 or less.
9. Rwanda is absolutely safe. Stay careful in Kenya.
10. While taking people's pictures, make faces. Smiling faces will enhance the picture quality to another level.
11. Generally breakfast is complimentary in all the hotels - make full use of it as this is your best option for the day.
12. Must have Tusker beer.
13. The public conveniences are not free(Rwf100 and Ksh10), so drink less liquid or spend more on it.
Kigali
Coffee at Bourbon Cafe - a combination of taste and presentation Yes, the in and out are chargeable.
14. Nairobi is cool
15. Cross road at zebra crossing in Kigali. Do not worry about traffic - IT WILL STOP.
16. You have big bananas and small bananas. Enjoy as per your liking.
