Woke up today sweating bullets. I worked with Minnesota Michelle on the grant today instead of going to the orphanage. Raymond has HUGE plans for this grant use, as he wants to incorporate a clinic, park, church, and vans into a new orphanage. To self sustain, he wants to run a carnival at the orphanage...I don't think he really knows what they are like in the U.S., or maybe they are really different here 😊

It rained like crazy all afternoon so we played cards at the house. For anyone who is curious, a normal day in Ghana is:

7:00 am: Wake up sweating; attempt to shower (often not possible because of low well pressure)
7:30 am: Breakfast; usually pineapple, tea, and plantains
8:30 am: Bus leaves for Christ; over 15 of us on a tro tro
9:00 am: Arrival at Christ
9:20 am: Singing and lessons
12:15 pm: Pickup from Christ
12:30 pm: Lunch

Nights and afternoons are sometimes scheduled, sometimes free. Dinner is at 6:00 pm and activities vary after that between movies, reading, and going out for cocktails. At night we had a guest speaker talk about families in Ghana which was pretty interesting. After that we went out for cocktails where I met three local rasta men named John, Courage, and JaWill. Side note: JaWill's given name was Cereal, but the kids made fun of him so much that his mother changed his name to God's Will, which he changed to JaWill when he became a rasta.

Miss you all!
Love.
