Long drive to the Red Sea. Left Luxor at 3pm and arrived at Hurgada at 8pm. Experienced minor culture shock at this tacky-restaurant Brits-abroad type place. Stopped at Four Seasons hotel to shower and eat - dirty, no cold water to mix with the hot, no flushing toilets, glad we're not staying here. Back onto another mini-bus for a cramped 12 hour journey to Dahab. Most of the journey was empty, sandy desert. Went under the Suez Canal around 6:30am and then onwards to the Red Sea.
