Spices Spices Spices

These smelled delicious!
One of the last stops on our trip was Khalilli market. We did this towards the end of our trip, b.c Hesham our tour guide told us it might seem a bit hectic if we didn't do the other stuff first.

Back then I had no idea what he was talking about but as soon as we got there, I figured it out. Its intense!!!!! to say the least! I had never been to any place like it. This is the real Egypt. When we showed up, the smell of spices and perfumes is the first thing I noticed, (reminds me of Habibi's back home near Westwood)...aside from the dust n' dirt everywhere but its real. There are some alleys that you would turn a corner n' mud everywhere, thank goodness I didnt wear sandals that day. We saw walls covered in scarves and pashmina's. N' hooka lounges everywhere!!!!! It was funny, a couple times, I swear we saw people having hooka for breakfast, kids too, it wasnt past 9am n' they were burning up...but its what makes Cairo, Cairo!

The marketplace at night. It got a little intense at times w. the vendors, but once we learned the basics in Arabic, they left us alone.
