Whenever I travel I try to emerse myself in everything of that culture, the food, the customs, even the language if I can, usually the common phrases you can pick up quick. I always try to learn something new when I travel...probably one of the things I've learned from this trip in New Years, ...aside from the fact that you can not hold a diet in Italy :) and that for some reason, it really doesn't feel like New Years unless Im at home (maybe it was the jetlag??) ...is that it's better to live simple but it is also more difficult. Today we stopped by an Autoexpress (the equivallent to a 7/11 in the US) and got some snacks and stuff, Millie got some chocolate's called "Bocci" which are popular with the kids, because each chocolate has a little message on the wrapping, think of a chocolate fortune cookie, anyways my message was very appropriate for being in the town of Romeo and Juliete... Chi vuol farsi amore amabile deve diventare which translates to "Loved shall be who loveable becomes" Just another thing I loooove about travelling trying the local food, snacks, drinks, ect. I refuseee to travel a bunch of miles just to have McD's!!!! I think part of what made me fall in love w. NY was, the sleepless nights when we were out wandering, and walking the town. While we were down there we walked all over Manhattan. At first we tried to find the spots were "Sex and the City" had been filmed, bc. my friend n' I are fans, but as we would be looking for one thing, another popped up and another. I think its what adds to the excitement of the city. We would get lost trying to find one thing, but would end up finding something else.
