our car for touring EuropeBy the time you read this we are well on our way. We left at 6.00 p.m. The cab was on time and we arrived a couple of hours before the flight. We had the time after the packing and checking to have a drink and relax. We were in the air by 23.00 and had a very good flight to Doha and that is where the first problem started. At leaving the plane we were directed to two different buses and as it happened Liz was on one and of course me on the other. Oh well we will see each other at the airport was my thought. But that developed in a total different way., for Liz was dropped at one side while I was on another side. The problem was She had all the paperwork. Here I was looking for liz lots of people trying to get through security and I trying to explain to a person I thought had authority what happened. She wanted my boarding pass what I did not have neither did I had my passport. I was told to go through security and the gate for all I could tell her I was going

having a drink at Hugo & Jola on a hot summer day to Amsterdam with Qatar airways. I was told the gateway to go to for our next flight. Here I had my second problem. Had two pieces of hand luggage that I put on the rollers as well as the basket for my wallet and phone. Went through the gate and was send back to take my shoes and my watch of. The watch went in one basket and the shoes on the rollers. Finally going through the gate I found all my things back except my watch. Still being very upset losing my wife I continued looking for her and proceeding to our Boarding gate. Arriving there I was again asked for my passport and boarding which I did not could produce. Now the understood the problem I was in. I was told she will turn up at the gate and yes there she was. We had some plans what we wanted to do in Doha but that all fell into the water. We just made the flight. There we were looked after by the stewards that supplied us with drinks and told us they will make the complains to the company and inform them of our problems and sort them out. The flight continued without further incidents. Arriving in Amsterdam we found the shuttle to take us to the place where we picked up our car. Lucky that was all okay apart from the delivery of the car. That was a disgrace. The car was dirty under dust we had to clean the windscreen so we could see where we were going. By then we both had it. The car has limited fuel so we had to fuel the car first. All the tank stations around there you only can fuel with Euro card that we do not have. We did fuel on the freeway it seems the only place you can fuel with cash or visa card. We were very happy to arrive at the hotel in Breukelen for a nice shower and a well deserved sleep. We had a beautiful breakfast. Our next stop was Etten Leur. Liz brother Hugo and his wife Jola were waiting with coffee and cake. We had a few hold ups on the road but you can expect that in a country like Holland. Not that far to go now. We had a very nice reception. The coffee and cake were standing ready and there was lots to tell. Our next blog will be from France. Bye for now.

What a traveling
Hi Alfons en Lies Toch weer gaan reizen en dat met zoveel hindernissen. Hadden jullie de zenuwen in Doha? Fijn dat alles weer goed is gekomen ondanks de smerige auto!
