Windsor Castle
Hello.....anyone home? mind if I join you for a cuppa? Hello! Just thought we'd let you know that we are in fact still alive and still enjoying living in the uk, oh but how time is flying!
So, we havent been up to much since Scotland besides working during the week and hanging out in Earls court on the weekends. We're off to Ireland on the 2nd of November, for 4 nights, and have managed to score tickets to the Aussies playing Ireland in the gaelic football, so keep your eyes peeled to the tele, cos you could spot us in the crowd!! (hint: we will be one of the 80,000 wearing green and yellow)
Well, after several complaints about my extremely inconsiderate lack of blogging, I thought it best if we did something interesting this weekend, and take some pics so you all have something to do at work when you dont want to do what you really should be doing!!
So, we decided to do some visiting on the weekend, and popped in to see a long time friend of ours....Lizzy......otherwise known as....Her Majesty the Queen of England!
After an hours train ride from earls court we arrived in sunny Windsor!! Actually, it really was sunny, apparently

We're here to walk the corgis!! the uk is experiencing its warmest october on record and are in the midst of a drought (not half as bad as Australias drought, the brits can just start draining loch ness if it gets that bad!) anyway, thats another story.....so back to sunny windsor!
Its a quaint little town, and apart from all the dopey tourists, Windsor castle dominates the streetscape and takes up most of the town......nice joint lizzy's got! Actually is bloody huge, seriously dont know how she keeps that place warm in winter, must have one hell of a heating bill!
We toured the immaculate grounds, then after not too long of a queue (hallelujah) got to go through the parts of the castle that are open to the public. We got to check out her dolls house, and what a dolls house it was! Never seen anything like it, and personally think she may be a bit spoilt with a toy like that. Its decked out in hand made timber furniture, and has a library in it, full of little tiny books that have actually been hand written in by the real authors. It even has the power and water connected, can you

Here corgi corgi corgi..... time for walkies! beleive it!
Next we looked through the 'state apartments' which is where she holds banquets and things, very nice house, but seriously way too big for just a couple of oldies!!
On the way out the gates we ran into an impromptu parade, not sure what the purpose of it was, but got to see a lot of soldiers and jig along to the marching band.
Mick pointed out an elderly woman coming out of the castle with a guard and told me it was the queen. I, being the gullible fool that I am, believed him and managed to get whip-lash trying to catch a glimpse.....but I was not the only fool, a group of american tourists also fell victim to the rumour that Mick started and were last seen rushing towards the poor old dear......ahhh, 15 minutes of fame for someones nana!
Anyway, that was pretty much our weekend. We're off to 'Bath' this weekend, its supposed to be a really nice part of England with the famous and extremely old roman baths, so you lucky sods should have more photos next week....woohoo for you!
Enjoy your week....and my most (in)sincerest apologies for making
