I know the title is a little weird, but that is exactly what I did this week. Well, I did more than just that, but those are the highlights. Monday, I had a very nice meeting with Olivier (my pal friend from Toulouse who now works in China) - we walked around Champs Elysees, and had dinner together. Tuesday, we (the international students) went out to a little jazz club in the latin quarter, Le Caveau des Oubliettes, "Cave of the forgotten", which refers to the prisoners forgotten in prisons during the Middle Ages 😊 The atmosphere was amazing, really like a little cave, and the music was great as well. One of the girls from our group even performed a song with the band (they let the audience participate). I have a little video of it, whcih I will upload here.

The hardest part was getting up in the morning (I had a class at 9AM), and it was like that all week long - late nights, early mornings, so by the beginning of the weekend, I was simply exhausted. This week was stressful in general, because I was searching for an appartment (not very successfuly) and trying to get a bank account and a cell phone (that is done!). You now can call me/send SMS and transfer money if you wish 😊

During the weekend, there were two big events in Paris - "Une journee de Patrimoine" and Fete de l'Humanite. The first one is two days, when all the government and historica buildings are open to the public - the President's mansion, the National Assembly, Senat, all the Ministries. Due to the time constraints and general exhaustion of my body I only visited the National Assembly, which is where the French of House Representatives located. It was a pretty cool visit, since the building is quite old, very beautiful and important in a historical sense, and I LOVE history!

Fete de l'Humanite is an annual 3-day event of concerts, movies, theatre (and lots of other activities). The thing is that it is sponsored by the newspaper Humanite (a communist publication) and by the French Communist Party. So, naturally, there was a lot of propaganda, but it was insanely interesting to see all that. I even got to hear a speach by Marie-George Buffet (communist rep in the House)! The best part was the concerts - I disovered lots of new artists (Benabar, Cali, Tete Raide etc.) and it felt amazing being part of this huge French crowd. I went to the Fete (party) with Stefanie the first day and Julia and Stefanie the second. After the concert of Benabar on the second day, we relaxed together in a little Middle Eastern cafe (with hookah, tea, and, of course, music). It was amazing and we acted very silly playing with the hookah. I will upload the pics and videos when I get them from Stefanie.

This week I am hoping to dedicate most of my time and energy to the search of the appartment. And registration for classes is this week as well, so the next post probably won't be as exciting, but who knows - Paris never stops to surprise!

Until the next time! I miss everyone! mamochka, skychayu!
