It is hard to believe that I have been here a week! just a week? already a week? I don't know. Sometimes it feels amazing here and other times it feels all weird. The first couple days weren't so bad: I was met at the airport by a french friend, she took me to her appartment and I felt very comfortable over all. She (Heloise) also took me to her friend's, where we just hung out. Then I moved into my own dorm room, located on an International campus. I spent the weekend trying to buy all the necessary things (I already spent immense amounts of money and I bought nothing extraordinary!). I also went to a modern art museum, Centre Pompidou (it's free the first sunday of each month, which is very cool). By Sunday night I started feeling lonely, but then I met a Russian guy, randomly on the street and a Senegalese guy in a park near my dorm. I don't know if they will become friends, but it was nice to have someone to talk to at the moment.

Monday, our orienation has begun and I started meeting tons of people, learning millions of new names

and countries of origin. There are about 400 of us, international students. Classes don't start until October, so we have a month to get adjusted and get to know each other. We have a group of French students to welcome us, as well. And they are planning different activities for us, like tours of Paris, little treasure hunts and outings at night. I feel a bit overwhelmed by the amount of information and the amount of stuff I have to do. It is very hard to relax and just enjoy Paris, but I am hoping it will get easier with time. I have made some friends, and I hope to find someone awesome to live with, since my dorm room is only for a month. I really want to live in an appartment with a mix of people from all over, but that might be hard to arrange. There is this cool Polish girl that also needs a place, so who knows.

Today I am going to Heloise's birthday party and I am a little scared - I don't know what to expect. There will be tons of French people and I have to talk to them. It is

whole lot easier to talk to foreigners (they are the same level as me). I hate that such simple act as talking is so difficult for me right now. I am even starting to think in French! This week should be pretty amazing - flee market tomorrow, boat tour of Seine in the evening, Versailles on Sunday, and free ballet in the park that night. I really enjoy that about Paris - there is always something to do. well, that is every big city, but still.
