Lake WindermereLake WindermereLake Windermere

Lake Windermere from Bowness Bay
Slept in this morning to try and catch up on lost sleep. Looks like it’s been a busy day for the U.S. and England. I can only imagine the many ways the recent news will impact my vacation. I’m determined to not let it personally alter any of my plans or expectations. Only time will tell.

Lei and I headed to the Lake District for the afternoon. We spent the majority of our time walking around the banks of Lake Windermere. Although the weather was overcast, the clouds eventually cleared the way for the sun to show itself for most of the day. The towns of Windermere and Bowness lie on the east banks of the lake. I really enjoyed the peacefulness of the entire area. The scenery surrounding the lake was very beautiful with the green rolling hills dominating the lake’s background.

We eventually left Lake Windermere and headed back to Lancaster for dinner and drinks. We met up with a few of Lei’s friends and finally ended up at a club called Revolution. The group as a whole was slightly against the idea of going to Revolution, but felt the experience was a humorous one that I

shouldn’t miss. I can’t say that I’ve ever been in a club with such a wide range of ages. Even more odd was the club attire that the older crowd chose to wear. I couldn’t stop people watching without a big smile on my face. It was quite a sight to behold.

Compliments of Lei, we have a 4:00 am wake-up call. Our train from Lancaster to Cardiff leaves at 4:45 am. I just realized that in two days I have reset my sleeping clock from about 10:00am EST to 11:00pm EST. Harsh. I hope my body can keep up!

Next stop, Cardiff!

Cockshott
Wudup! Hope you're enjoying the travels. Get caught in any of that nasty airport nonsense yet? Looks like you'll have to move the vaseline to your checked luggage for your trip to Norway; so much for joining the mile high club, although I'm not sure you're allowed to valididate your own membership. Keep up the postings. It's a pleasant distraction in my now overly tedious work day. (Work after vacations ALWAYS blows hard. Quite frankly, I'm cockshott already.) Peace, -B
