This is really a catchup on what we have been seeing. We had been seeing grey dull sort of colors interspersed with views of the ocean and beautiful bays. all of a sudden, south of Sydney, there appeared these rolling hills of green. Just beautiful! This was definitely horse country. We have discovered that Australians are great gamblers and the horses are one of their loves. It would be wonderful to ride across those green hills. We did visit Canberra and the Houses of Parliament. The architecture of the city and the buildings is something to behold. If only more cities could have that architectural planning. The streets are wide with boulevards lined with trees and it really is a fairly easy city to drive in (mind you, we did have Queenie!). We then arrived in Beechworth. The town has the most colourful flowers and trees. It is a town that has been innovative in revitalization using the story of Ned Kelly who was finally hanged at 25 years. And the town has restored many of the old buildings including the jail. The museum was really interesting with stuff that we had never seen before. They are also known for their bakery and their meat pies. It was a very busy place!

beautiful colors
Thanks for posting these beautiful photos Jean. Their trees are certainly colorful. You have to wonder how or what they use to trim the huge green hedge with the archway cut into it! Talk about a privacy fence. hahaha Keep on enjoying safe travels! Happy Thanksgiving weekend from GP AB.
