Hello everybody!

On this particular Saturday night, Larry, myself and a few friends decided to go out to Roppongi in search of the infamous Absolut Ice Bar....

We began the evening by having a quaint dinner at a Persian restaurant called Aladdin. Here, the food was a mixture of Arabic & Greek foods and was very delicious! Although it all tasted good though, Genia's dinner looked like a plate of poo, and so she kept us entertained throughout the entire meal with hilarious comments about her food!!!

After dinner, we headed to the Absolut Ice Bar. No one really knew exactly how to get there, so we eventually just all hopped into some cabs. Once we saw it and walked inside, we were REALLY excited. We knew it would be cold in there and that our cover fee included a "cape," but we had no idea that it would be a snazzy sci-fi, silver cape with a furry hood! Our 3,500 yen also included admission into the bar, a drink, and our own, individual ICE GLASSES! How cool is that??

We were only allowed to stay at Ice Bar for 45 minutes at a time because it was so frigid in there, but in that time we had a lot of fun! First we checked out the scene.... EVERYTHING was made of ice, including the bar, tables and seats. It was really funny watching everyone try to sit on the seats and slide right off onto the floor!! Also, all of the walls had ice carvings in them, and one even had actual Absolut bottles frozen into them! Next we ordered our drinks, and when they were gone, attempted to eat our thick glasses made of only ice! The highlight of the night was probably when we met a famous Japanese actress there....(although we don't remember her name for the life of us!)

Afterwards we walked back to the Hibiya Line and got a train home. All in all, a night to remember!

Love,
Larry & Melanie
