Today's first objective....climb Notre Dame. Now last time we were here, we arrived 30 min before opening to find the line a mile long. This morning we arrived at 9:20 (10am opening) to find 2 people sitting there, LOL. It was cold this morning as well, but the difference being the sun is out and it is so beautiful!! They let 20 up at a time and we were part of the fist group. 387 steps and I will honestly admit that I thought I was going to die....really, die. It was so cold, my lungs were burning and when we got to the top I started coughing like I had the black lung, LOL. OMG but I made it and the view is to die for.....well worth it for legs that will shake for the next hour!

Next was Saint Chappelle which is our favorite here in Paris with it's monumental stained glass windows. It never fails to astonish! We went back to the Saint Eustache church near Les Halles. Our food tour provided us the history on how much of a gift this church was so we were eager to visit. Very nice inside, but no Notre Dame ;-). OK, so lunch time, it's almost 3pm and we want to be to the Opera Garnier no later than 4pm to catch the last tour. What to do for lunch? Au Pied de Cochon is across the street so we got to sit outside in the sun (so so so nice) and I ordered French Onion Soup (Cheers Julia) and Matt got Bone Marrow again. It wasn't as good as the previous visit...guess the mixed reviews were right after all...

The Opera House was a quick visit and honestly not worth the 9E to enter but beautiful as are most historical sites in Paris. It is me today who is very tired and sore, so we headed back to the apartment with a stop to pick up some fromage, bread, salami and more creme caramel for dinner. We stayed in tonight and enjoyed our apartment....took a late nap and are currently watching 'Midnight in Paris.' Tomorrow we leave this amazing city....we will miss it but are so excited to explore other parts of France!
