One morning we were eating breakfast at a small local restaurant, Dan had just finished eating and was standing up when two geckos fell from the ceiling right on his plate. I was still sitting down and eeeked out a little screech. The geckos were stunned and it took them a minute to slither off. They were either mating or wrestling 😉 because they have always been quite sure footed when I have observed them on ceilings. That being said, I can not help but check the ceiling when I eat now to make sure that there aren't any right above me.

Another interesting thing that was discussed was the fact that the power went off for about a half an hour on both of the Tuesday nights that we were on the island. Rumor has it that a small plane delivers coke to the island once a week and that they turn the power off so it can land undetected. I have no way of knowing if there is any truth to the rumor or not but did find it peculiar that Tuesdays were the only times it went off when we were there and from what I heard that was the case each week. The island certainly was very dark though when it went off. I believe Mango Inn was the only place that had a generator. The last time it went off we shortly there after left the restaurant that we were at. As we walked in the dark children scared us a couple times. They were quite sneaky. =0

Our last full day on the island we took a kiack out, we heard there were dolfens by the light house and I had the pleasure of seeing them! They were riding the waves so you could only see the top of them. Unfortunately Dan didn't see them. It got quite choppy by the lighthouse so we quickly paddled back. Paddling on the ocean is much more tiresome than the lake!

On the morning we left I was nervous about the boat ride but not nearly as much as I thought I would be. I believe the many boat rides for the dives got me "used" to being sea sick. When the boat docked I was relieved to see that it was not the vomit comet! I had heard that this boat was actually made for the open sea and a much better ride. Upon boarding I could see that the windows were much bigger and there were tables and it just plain looked nicer. As we journeyed to La Ceiba I was happy to find that I was not sea sick at all. The boat still rocked but it wasn't bad. We also had the kiwis to talk to which I think was a good distraction.
