Could they not have thought of a better name for the bar? I wonder into the Kunti Bar and saunter up to the bar hoping that I am exuding confidence, yet not feeling confident in side. There are 4 people behind the bar and only one other customer – and he turns out to be a local, who later on tries to sell me a night at his tea house near Lobuje. One of the staff takes my order, the second gets a glass, and the third pours the child bottle of Carlsberg into it and then places it on the bar. The fourth person takes the money. 350 rupees – which I work out is about 2.60 GBP – and a lot less than the tip I gave to min-Hercules who carried my bag up to the room. Feeling guilty now.

I spy my first glimpse of Everest…a bottle of Everest Beer. Would be rude not to try this next, and it was very nice too. Before I know it, the 4 amigos are closing up the bar….feels like tea time but is in fact midnight. Kathmandu is a place that rises early and sleeps early….will start to do the same.

Finally, after 36 hours, I am tucked up in bed and get a great nights sleep.
