Flea MarketFlea MarketFlea Market

There's a small square near the Radisson in old town that hosts a second hand fair, or flea market on Saturdays.
I spent a little more than 3 weeks in the southern coastal city of Malmo, Sweden's second largest city.

There's two major squares here, "Big Square" and "Little Square (Lille Torg)". In big square there's much parking and shops, little square has all the restaurants and bars. Fun place, Sushi, Thai, Steaks, etc...YUM!

There's a beach area on the eastern part of the city, but I was there April-May and it was a bit cold for the beach. I stayed in the Radisson in old town, "Gamla Stan" and it's a good place to stay. I preferred this as it was walking distance to most locations, you don't want to have cocktails and drive; Sweden is very strict in that way! The Hilton is further north in the cosmopoitan part of the city and closer to businesses.

If you have the time to travel there, don't fly into Malmo airport, fly to Copenhagen! There's a high speed train that links Copenhagen airport and Malmo central station, it's cheap and convenient. In Malmo old town there is a Hertz rental office (that's open sort of banker's hours). It's a fun place!

If flying into Malmo and wish to rent a car... Think again. Flying into the Central Station Rail Service works great!!

Malmo
I visted Malmo this past week for one evening. I was in Copenhagen on business, and our small group took the train to Malmo. Very short trip of 30 minutes. Would reccomend anyone on business in Copenhagen to make the trip. Very many options on places to eat/drink on the square which is within walking distance from the train station, even in the winter. Our meal was excellent and the service and people were great!

Malmo a cool experience
I was in Copenhagen in the month of June to attend Rotary International Convention. On the second day of our Convention, I had some spare and took my off to visit Malmo. The travel by train from Copenhagen to Malmo was a great experience. Malmo is a beautiful city with lot of aethetically decorated gardens. What struck most is the cleanliness of the city and very freindly people always willing to help you in case you seek some guidance. English is spoken very well in the city even by a common man on the street.
