I spent 4 days in Bucharest. Interesting place? Although just becoming part of the European Union, it looked like it was stuck in the 1920s. Just 15 minutes outside of the capital, there are people burning garbage in a can, old women with thatched sweepers cleaning up leaves, horse drawn buggies with produce... I stayed in the Sofitel, not far from the airport and arrived on a Thursday and stayed the weekend. My only business was on Friday outside of the city. I managed to pickup some kind of viral sinus infection when I was there that lasted six weeks. Food and Beer? FANTASTIC! and CHEAP! Becks 16.9oz. beers were 0.75-1.00 US Dollars! Have a look at the greek salad and lamb chops I had with 2 beers and 2 glasses of a Transylvanian Sauvagnon Blanc. ... read more
I got to travel to Rome twice in 2004, August and September. The first time I stayed closer to the airport the first time an the Golf Parco Sheridan, they have a free bus service to downtown Rome and it's a pretty nice place, BUT it's still a waste of an hour round trip being stuck on the bus. The second time I stayed at the Sofitel on the northwest side of the city (very convenient). It was pretty hot in August and we were working outside, but it was still a good time. Have a look at the pictures I grabbed when I was there. Enjoy.... read more
Guess what, another outdoor bar scene... Great times, very hot. I was in Lisbon during February, July and October. The first trip was mostly checking out the city. I was only there a couple days and stayed at the Marriott way north of the city close to the irport. Next time I stayed in the Sofitel, a 15 minute walk from the happening parts of the city! The Sofitel is a great value and is newly renovated. Also close to the bars ;) I'll add more later.... read more
Great trip. We arrived a day before our meeting and rented a car, the rest was history. We drove to an area called "Highwood Pass" and ascended til we saw snow. It was in the 90's in NY, high 60's in Calgary, now snow. Strange. The following day we had our meeting and we were gone. Easy trip.... read more
What a nice afternoon! Sitting in the main square having a couple cold 'Sako' beers. Very nice day. Make sure you bring your jacket for when the sun goes down. I stayed at the Domina City Hotel (http://www.dominahotels.com/eng/products/overview.aspx?idmaster=66). What a GRAND PLACE! Outstanding rooms, reasonable price, good food/bar and high speed wireless internet! Just around the corner from Pegasus (http://www.restoranpegasus.ee/), multi-floor establishment. I did most of my report writing for work there ;) over a couple beers. Good club music too!... read more

Only 2 days in Wexford. It took a good part of the day to drive from Dublin. We did a job on top of White Mountain. I didn't have much sightseeing time on this trip, too much work ;)... read more
I spent a weekend here in February 2004 while traveling between Lisbon and Dublin. I had a travel choice of stop overs, Barcelona, Zurich or Prague. It was February, nevertheless I chose Barcelona. Great city. The is the old city and the newer "olympic" area. Very cool place.... read more
I stayed so many times in Malmo, I decided to stay an hour or so north for a change. October 2004, I was there for 6 days including a weekend. Cool little village, Kristianstad. Small shopping area, about 4 major street with small businesses. I stayed in refurbed hotel called KristianIV. Beautiful hotel, I found it on the internet, reasonably priced and outstanding rooms with like 14 foot ceilings. I had a grea time there. The weekend stay I emailed a local ham radio guy and there was a radio club event that weekend. It's was the greatest! I spent part of Saturday with their club operating a radio contest and part of Sunday. Very nice people let me full use of their club house. I had a rental car and flew in/out of Copenhagen. I ... read more
