We met him in the mall ... he stayed for a pic Hello everyone.. now that Nick is gone you are gonna have to put up with a blog written by Rajan and Bryan :P First of all, thanks to Nick for all the hard work he put in on this thing so far, awesome job 😊 We were sorry to see him leave, but we had some good times 😊
All right, since Nick left we spent a few more days on Ko Phangan and stayed for the famous full moon party. The days leading up to the party were pretty relaxing, lots of sitting on the beach, walking around and scooter trips into town. We managed to find a "football" .. it was probably the worst quality one I've ever seen, but it kept us busy for the last few days.
The night of the full moon party was pretty crazy to say the least. The beach was filled with about 8000 people or so, there was 10 different kinds of music, and lots of other crazy stuff going on. We all had a good night, ended up getting no sleep , because the whole island was awake and partying like crazy.... even when you try to sleep it
School :P
Raj Chillin at the Information Science School doesn't happen :P
The next morning we woke up early and caught the ferry from Ko Phangan to Ko Samui. A 45 minute boat ride on rough seas, after a sleepless night, did a number on all of us. Will was pretty sea sick... again ..... and Raj and I were slightly hungover .. too many buckets :P We managed to crawl into a cab and head to the airport. The airport at Ko Samui is basically 3 straw huts joined by gravel, it was one of the weirdest and coolest airports we have seen. We got to the airport pretty early so we slept on the grass for a few hours, this was my favourite part of the day by far :P haha Next was our 1 hour plane ride to Singapore, which seemed to take forever.
When we landed in the Singapore airport we met the nicest guy who offered us a place to stay and a free ride into town. We were pretty happy until he walked us to his own personal car, which made us kinda nervous... but he ended up owning a brand new Lexus worth like $80,000+ sooo nice. Turns out you
Food
Will eating for the billionth time need to buy the rights to own a car over here, in order to avoid traffic congestion. They have card readers mounted on the dash that subtract fees for using certain roads too.
We got to the hostel pretty late and it turned out to be pretty nice. That night we headed out to 7-eleven to buy phone cards and some munchies. After that it was early to bed, to end one of the roughest travel days ever!!!!
The next morning we woke up early and headed to Sim Lim Square, this mall turned out to be 6 stories of nothing but electronics ... everyone sold the same stuff. Apparently everyone in Singapore shops and eats 24-7... they have malls and food courts that are open all the time. The city itself was super clean and the majority of people are super nice and willing to help out 😊 After the mall we headed to Orchard Rd, which is the main high end shopping area in Singapore. We walked around this area for about 7 hours, with a ton of food and water breaks. We also kept ducking into all the malls to get a blast of A/C
Orchard
Will and Bryan shopping on Orchard Road before heading out onto the street again.. Singapore is way to close to the equator and way too hot :P
That night we met up with an English girl named Wendy who joined our trip to the night safari, we ended making her our official photographer :P haha The night safari was awesome, it had most of the animals of a normal zoo except that most of them are a lot more active at night, like the lions and tigers and bears.....oh my. There was a tram ride that took us through the whole park, which turned out to be great since we walked for 7 hours that day. The last thing was an animal show. There were owls, otters, snakes, and many other nocturnal animals that performed a bunch of cool tricks. After the zoo we headed back to town so Will could eat again. Since we have been in Singapore Will has stopped to eat so many times I have lost track...haha :P
The next morning we woke up early again and Wendy tagged along with us again as we went to Sentosa and Chinatown. Sentosa is the southern-most point of SE asia. It is a
??
Everyone here is a bit short :P tourist trap, but we managed to have a good time at the Carlsberg Sky Tower and at the 4D Movie Show. We spent a bit of time at the beach and went for a swim near the Equator before heading to Chinatown....of course so Will could eat more food!!! We spent a 1/2 hour at Chinatown because we were almost out of time.. and now we are sitting here writing this blog entry as fast as we can so we can catch our flight to Bangkok tonight. We get to spend the whole night in the airport and then we fly to Cambodia for 5 days at 7am tomorrow morning... sounds like fun heh......not really...but hey...we're used to it!!!
Thats it for now ... next update from Cambodia ...
Well not quite yet.....Bryan, Will and I are now sitting at the Changi Airport in Singapore and have just found out that our flight is delayed by a whole hour....well at first they said 1/2 hour and now we just found out that it will be delayed for another 1/2 hour!!!! Oh my god....what else could happen to us??? Anyways....we'll update you after we get into Cambodia and fill
Under Legs
