We've arrived in Shanghai, descending into a fog of pollution that hasn't lifted the entire time we've been here. Flying in across the city, we were intrigued at the way the city was designed, seeing more open land around most homes, than homes themselves. The airport was a sight as well, not to mention that it is gargantuan. One wing of this place seems to be larger than the entire Regina airport. There is beautifully crafted merchandise in most stores; tempting to say the least. Luckily, a lack of proper currency has dissuaded my desire for something, anything, made of jade.

Kris is having a rough time at the moment, having just endured the twelve hour flight. As I stand here at a computer terminal, she is laying across three chairs, sleeping soundly on my backpack. I feel just horrible for her, though I try my best to comfort her in any way I can find. We've planned it out so that during our next flight we will sleep most of the journey. Which coincides nicely with a 9:00 A.M. arrival in Sydney. Jet lag is not something I've ever dealt with before, but from all I've heard, I'd prefer to minimize any of its... erm... unfriendly effects.

We've had a bowl of soup at one of the restaurants here, which would have been more appetizing if not for an uneasy stomach in both of us. It was very tasty, though there were some questionable wontons filled with a stiff, green/gray substance. Again, feeling ill, we weren't feeling particularly adventurous with our food.

Anyways, we have about an hour and half left, and we'll be off to Sydney, Australia. Kris is in desparate need of a lazy day on the beach and I cannot wait, either!
